Meet Kelly Peterson

Faith, Family, and Service First

Kelly Peterson is a conservative activist, accomplished small business owner, and longtime resident of Spring, Texas. For the past four years, she has served as District Director for State Representative Sam Harless, where she oversees district operations, manages constituent casework, and leads community outreach efforts. Her effectiveness in this role—and her unwavering commitment to public service—have earned her Representative Harless’s full and unequivocal endorsement in the race for Texas House District 126.

A resident of HD 126 since 2006, Kelly has lived, worked, and raised her family in the community she now seeks to represent. Her long-standing roots give her a deep understanding of the district’s needs—but it is her work as District Director that has provided her the most direct insight into how state government impacts families, schools, and businesses. Over the past four years, Kelly has managed hundreds of constituent cases, collaborated with state agencies to resolve complex issues, and worked closely with local leaders, law enforcement, and community organizations to address neighborhood concerns. She has seen firsthand where state policy succeeds and where it falls short, and she understands how to translate community challenges into actionable legislative solutions. This experience has prepared her to step into a larger role as a legislator—one focused on advocacy, accountability, and ensuring that the people of HD 126 always have a strong, informed, and effective voice in the Texas House. Known for her integrity, transparency, and steadfast work ethic, Kelly is a trusted, solutions-driven leader who listens closely, leads decisively, and delivers results.

Kelly’s professional background spans both the private and public sectors. As a small business owner, she has founded, operated, and managed multiple enterprises—experience that gives her practical insight into the needs of entrepreneurs, property owners, and working families. She is currently the executive assistant to the president of J Alan Kent Development, supporting contract acquisitions and major operations. She is also the owner of KPDC, LLC, providing creative opportunities for adults with special needs. She previously owned a dance studio and an oilfield consulting company, demonstrating leadership and adaptability across diverse industries. In her public-sector role, Kelly has been instrumental in connecting residents with vital resources, advocating for their needs, and ensuring they receive responsive, effective assistance from the Capitol.

A lifelong Texan, Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology and a Master of Education, both from the University of North Texas. Her academic training provides her with a strong foundation in issues affecting seniors, families, caregivers, and individuals with special needs—perspectives that further strengthen her commitment to thoughtful, community-centered leadership.

At the heart of Kelly’s life are faith, family, and service. She has proudly raised two sons in Spring and remains deeply dedicated to protecting, strengthening, and uplifting the community she calls home. Kelly’s candidacy is grounded in lived experience, long-standing relationships, and a sincere desire to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future for Texas House District 126.
